About the role
The Surgical Technologist provides technical support in the perioperative period under the direction of a registered nurse, working on 13‑26‑week assignments at BayCare hospitals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance during surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
- Maintain sterile technique, set up instrumentation and equipment, and manage the sterile field.
Required profile
- High School diploma or equivalent plus an accredited Surgical Technology program and at least 1 year of surgical technician experience (or 5 years acute‑care experience with military/hospital training).
- NBSTSA certification (or 5 years experience without certification) and current BLS certification.
Required skills
- Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set‑up.
- NBSTSA certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
