About the role
The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Surgical Technician 3 to support surgical procedures in Miami, Florida. The role is responsible for managing instruments, equipment, and maintaining a sterile field throughout operations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the surgical suite, ensuring environmental safety for patients and staff.
- Practice aseptic technique and maintain a neat, organized sterile field.
- Label medications and solutions on the surgical field.
- Return instruments for decontamination and restock sub‑sterile rooms.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and assist with inventory and supply ordering.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or license.
- Minimum five years of relevant surgical technician experience.
- Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and technical proficiency with office software.
