Surgical Services Support Technician I – Neuro Expansion

About the role

The Surgical Services Support Technician I will join the brand‑new Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, supporting patient flow and operating room turnover from arrival through discharge. The role is essential for maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient surgical environment in a state‑of‑the‑art facility.

Key responsibilities

• Transport patients safely to designated areas per nursing requests.
• Clean and turn over operating rooms between cases, including handling hazardous and radioactive waste.
• Deliver specimens to appropriate labs and assist nursing staff with patient prep and shaving.
• Maintain uniform room activities, locker assignments, and scrubs for OR personnel.
• Ensure compliance with electronic task entry and infection‑control protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the new‑hire period.
• At least one year of customer service experience in a team environment.
• Physical ability to lift or bear 100 lb (with assistance) and handle body fluids.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and infection‑control procedures.
