Supply Chain Planner

About the role

The Planner ensures an uninterrupted flow of materials by combining effective procurement, inventory control, supplier management and transportation coordination. The role supports Just‑in‑Time delivery, cost reduction and overall supply chain excellence while complying with Atlas Copco standards.

Key responsibilities

• Procure material in a Just‑in‑Time flow, releasing daily purchase orders and monitoring them to avoid production loss.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, handle escalations and ensure on‑time delivery for new product launches.
• Control inventory levels, conduct daily stock counts, analyse variance and use ILM to optimise stock, slow‑moving and obsolete items.
• Coordinate transport operations, work with transporters, forwarders and external agencies to achieve low‑cost, on‑time delivery and optimise routing.
• Ensure compliance with IMS principles, ISO 9001, ISO 14000, OHSAS and internal safety, health and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to meet JIT delivery targets and reduce inventory cost of goods sold.
• Experience in supplier performance monitoring and escalation management.
• Strong analytical skills for inventory variance analysis and demand forecasting.
• Knowledge of transport optimisation and coordination with multiple logistics partners.

Required skills

• Inventory Lifecycle Management (ILM) system.
• BPCS (ERP) for inventory tracking.
• Transport Management System (TMS) for milk‑run coordination.
• Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and OHSAS standards.
