Supervisor – Numerical Control Programming

About the role

The Plant Manufacturing Engineering organisation at Airbus seeks a Supervisor to lead the Numerical Control Programming (NCP) team at the Kinston site. You will be responsible for maintaining production performance, driving efficiency improvements, and fostering a continuous‑improvement culture across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and continuously improve up‑to‑date NCP programs supporting industrial systems and technology deployment.
• Lead the NCP team (8 FTE + outsourced staff) to deliver timely updates from inputs such as EQNs, DQNs, QNs and modifications.
• Identify and execute continuous‑improvement projects, analysing performance data to uncover opportunities.
• Manage risk and opportunity assessments, develop mitigation plans and monitor legal and technological changes.
• Act as a change leader, ensuring aircraft and MOD configuration standards are met and responding to technical queries from internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Proven ability to lead teams, build relationships and solve complex technical problems.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Numerical Control Programming (NCP) technology and programs (SAP, MES, etc.).
• Microsoft Office Suite – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
• Working knowledge of Business Management Systems (BMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Understanding of metallic and composite manufacturing, assembly techniques and treatment processes.
