Summer Internship – Human Resources

About the role

Join the Human Resources team in Herndon, VA for a summer internship that provides exposure to HR Operations, Recruitment, Talent & Development, Compensation & Benefits, and Employee Relations. You will work on high‑visibility projects and support daily HR activities while developing professional skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily HR operations and administrative tasks.
• Assist in planning and executing engagement activities for the HR team and the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) team.
• Contribute to high‑visibility HR projects such as onboarding, leadership development, and safety initiatives.
• Create deliverables and presentation materials for senior leadership review.
• Collaborate with HR team members for regular check‑ins, goal setting, and feedback.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proactive attitude, ability to handle confidential information with integrity, and comfort in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of personnel.

Required skills

• Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) proficiency.
• Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems (preferred).
• Strong project‑management and autonomous work capabilities.
