Summer Intern – Process Simplification & Automation (Sophomore)

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is seeking sophomore undergraduate students for a ten‑week Summer Intern position in the Executive Office’s Process Simplification & Automation (PSA) team. Interns will work onsite in New York, gaining hands‑on experience in analyzing and improving bank processes while supporting the bank’s mission to strengthen the U.S. economy.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the Process Champions Program to map current and future process flows.
• Collaborate with a seasoned Robotic Process Automation (RPA) citizen developer to design and prototype automation solutions.
• Conduct data‑driven analysis of business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Assist in documenting process changes, testing automated workflows, and communicating results to stakeholders.
• Engage with cross‑functional teams across the Bank to share insights and support broader automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled as a sophomore in an undergraduate program.
• Strong analytical mindset with interest in process improvement and automation.
• Willingness to work full‑time onsite in New York for ten weeks.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
