Summer Engineering Internship 2027

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking summer interns to join the Engineering department in Wichita, KS for the 2027 program. Interns will work with a team supporting aircraft structural design, including modeling, drafting, and analysis of metallic and composite components.

Key responsibilities

• Perform design engineering activities supporting aircraft structural design, including 3D modeling, drafting, and bill of material creation.
• Conduct static, fatigue and damage tolerance analyses on metallic or composite components using tools such as NASTRAN and PATRAN.
• Support modification, repair, and in‑service activities, including trade‑study data preparation and weight‑reduction efforts.

Required profile

• Current student pursuing a B.Sc. in Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Coursework in airframe design, static analysis, mechanics of materials, or CAD.
• Willingness to relocate to Wichita, KS for the May‑August 2027 internship and ability to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA, Isami, NASTRAN, and PATRAN.
• Experience in airframe design and MRB processes.
• Competent use of MS Office and G‑Suite.
