Submarine Systems Technician (ISIS & RADAR)

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Submarine Systems Technician (FT, ST, ET, IT) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for a future funded role supporting critical Navy systems. The technician supports NAVSEA and DoD personnel with the installation, maintenance, testing and certification of AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) and AN/BPS-series RADAR systems across multiple submarine platforms. The position is open to transitioning military and veterans.

Key responsibilities

• Install, validate and service ISIS and RADAR systems aboard U.S. submarines
• Perform troubleshooting, corrective actions and electronic system verifications
• Review and support engineering change proposals and instructions
• Assist in creating technical data, manuals, maintenance procedures and drawing updates
• Maintain documentation, logs, databases and project tracking systems
• Support engineering teams with installation, calibration, repair, fabrication, testing and operation of electronic and mechanical systems
• Ensure compliance with engineering specifications and documentation requirements
• Provide technical evaluations of components, installations and system performance

Required profile

• Active Secret US Government clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
• High school diploma/GED and five years of practical experience, or a degree/formal training and three years of experience
• Practical experience maintaining, troubleshooting or repairing submarine C5I systems/equipment
• Experience in maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines
• Experience designing, preparing and modifying engineering documents and drawings
• Ability to travel up to 15%

Preferred qualifications

• Experience across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems
• Familiarity with network configuration and BYG-1 combat control systems
