About the role
The Subassemblies Specialist joins the MASPARC Tokamak Team to build high‑precision, ultra‑high‑vacuum subassemblies for the SPARC fusion reactor. You will be the final quality checkpoint for critical components and later help install them into the Tokamak.
Key responsibilities
- Build complex subassemblies (RF antennas, plasma facing components, coils, diagnostics) while meeting strict cleanliness standards.
- Oversee contract technicians, ensuring adherence to work instructions and part quality.
- Perform helium leak checks and other testing using specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to refine work instructions and finalize component designs.
- Assist with precision alignment, optical system installation, and clean‑room maintenance.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5‑7 years of technical assembly experience in aerospace, semiconductor, automotive, or similar fields.
- At least 2 years leading a team of four or more.
- Ability to operate a forklift and lift up to 50 lb.
Required skills
- Experience with basic machining tools (lathe, mill) and measurement instruments.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Manufacturo, or similar tracking software.
- Helium leak checking and rigging/lifting heavy components.
- Knowledge of clean‑room best practices.
