Sub-Assembly Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Sub‑Assembly Technician to join Saronic Technologies’ production team in Austin. You will assemble and integrate sub‑systems for autonomous surface vessels, ensuring high‑quality and functional builds in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate mechanical and electronic sub‑systems according to engineering specifications.
• Perform detailed inspections and functional testing of sub‑assemblies.
• Use hand tools, power tools and specialized equipment, including wire‑harness crimping and soldering.
• Collaborate with engineers and fellow technicians to resolve assembly issues and improve processes.
• Maintain accurate assembly records and document any deviations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and keep the work area organized.
• Contribute to the development of assembly procedures and technical documentation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in mechanical/electrical assembly, preferably in a high‑tech or aerospace setting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 35 lb and work on varied terrain for up to 12 hours per day.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment and Digital Multi‑Meter (DMM).
• Wire‑harness stripping, crimping and assembly to engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of IPC‑620 WHMA standards and basic soldering techniques.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Slack, Email).
