Student Transportation Dispatcher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to manage daily operations for our student transportation fleet. The role ensures safe, on‑time pick‑up and drop‑off of students while maintaining clear communication with drivers, schools, and families.

Key responsibilities

• Daily scheduling: develop and manage efficient bus routes and schedules.
• Driver coordination: serve as primary contact for drivers, communicating route updates and handling traffic or weather issues.
• Emergency response: address transportation emergencies, dispatch assistance promptly, and inform stakeholders.
• Communication: maintain consistent communication with drivers, school officials, and parents.
• Fleet monitoring: use GPS and dispatch software to track bus locations and ensure adherence to routes.
• Regulatory compliance: ensure operations meet student transportation regulations.
• Record keeping: document routes, driver assignments, and incidents for reporting.
• Continuous improvement: collaborate with transportation managers to enhance routing efficiency and safety.

Required profile

• Proven experience in dispatching or a related field (preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using dispatch software.
• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems.
