Strategic Sourcing Manager – Corporate Services (Marketing, HR, Finance, Legal)

About the role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for Corporate Services at The Home Depot develops, executes and manages sourcing initiatives across several corporate categories, with a primary strategic focus on Marketing. The role expands the procurement footprint within Corporate Services, so it calls for a proactive relationship builder who can build trust with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate products and services within the assigned category to secure the lowest possible price (25%)
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories and work cross-functionally to streamline processes (25%)
• Initiate quality vendor relationships and evaluate them, terminating if necessary (5%)
• Work with stores and functional areas to define what to source, manage vendors and resolve issues such as quality and delivery (20%)
• Work with purchasing operations to ensure a smooth transition from deal to ongoing purchasing and accurate order delivery (5%)
• Source and qualify vendors based on quality, quantity and delivery date (10%)
• Research and assess vendor capabilities against company needs (10%)

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED; no additional education required
• 5 years of work experience preferred
• Preferred: experience sourcing multiple categories, including the Marketing category

Required skills

• Negotiation skills, including in adversarial situations
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and presentation skills
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Understanding of the strategic sourcing process and financial analysis preferred
• Experience with large datasets and sourcing tools preferred
