Strategic Finance Lead – Compute Investments

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Strategic Finance Lead to own the financial stewardship of its compute accelerator investments. You will partner closely with compute, engineering, and research teams to translate technical dynamics into clear financial narratives that guide investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and financial plan maintenance for cloud accelerator compute spend.
• Build and maintain detailed, bottoms‑up financial models for accelerator infrastructure, including long‑range forecasts, cost‑driver analyses, and scenario modeling.
• Develop deep expertise in compute contracts, pricing structures, and cost drivers to surface optimization opportunities.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for Anthropic’s overall compute capacity plan, owning the source of truth and plan of record.
• Support implementation and scaling of financial planning tools such as Pigment.
• Analyze the economics of model training and research compute, distilling ROI insights into actionable capacity‑planning frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineering and research teams to translate scaling dynamics into financial frameworks.
