Store Manager - Tuscaloosa

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Store Manager for its Tuscaloosa store. The Store Manager leads profitable store operations and executes the company's retail strategy around customer service, in-stock merchandise and store appearance. The position reports to the District Manager and has 4-9 direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the District Manager and District team to set the store's direction, resolve issues and carry out company strategy through Playbooks and Priority Communications.
• Analyze sales and financial reports, review shrink and safety performance, and guide the team toward improvement.
• Conduct store walks with Assistant Store Managers and Department Supervisors, and host store walks with the District/Regional team.
• Facilitate weekly staff meetings, monitor associate engagement and drive employer-of-choice initiatives.
• Train store management and leadership teams on operational processes, merchandising standards, store appearance, safety and operational excellence.
• Support pilot programs and new store initiatives, evaluate in-stock levels and drive Green/Reduced Tag and Clearance processes to maximize turns.

Required profile

• Able to work a flexible, minimum 55-hour weekly schedule.
• At least 2 years of prior merchandising and/or operational experience, and at least 2 years of leadership experience, preferably in retail.
• High school diploma or GED; no additional education required.
• Legally permitted to work in the United States; must be 18 or older.
• Typical overnight travel under 10% of the time; intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing and lifting.
