Stationary Engineer III – Gilcrease Plant

About the role

Responsible for routine and emergency tasks in the operation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilating, refrigeration, air‑conditioning and other mechanical power equipment at the Gilcrease central plant.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain central plant equipment including boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers and compressors.
• Monitor and adjust building management systems such as Johnson Controls Metasys, Tridium Niagara and Trane Summit to maintain temperature and humidity set‑points.
• Perform preventative maintenance, conduct weekly building checks and generate work orders for additional repairs.
• Respond to HVAC service calls from campus facilities, events and residential units, dispatching work to day‑shift engineers as needed.
• Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), schedule work orders and coordinate with vendors.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
• First Class Limited Stationary Engineer’s License issued by the City of Tulsa.
• Ability to read blueprints and control schematics.
• Experience with high‑pressure boilers, large centrifugal chillers (800 tons+), variable‑speed motors and water‑treatment systems preferred.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of central plant boilers, chillers and pumps.
• Use of building management systems: Johnson Controls Metasys, Tridium Niagara, Trane Summit.
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) scheduling.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and control schematics.
• Basic computer proficiency for email and work‑order management.
