Staff Technical Program Manager, Vehicle Systems & Controls

About the role

The joint venture between Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies seeks a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead cross‑functional teams developing advanced vehicle subsystems. You will own end‑to‑end delivery of hardware and software integration for vehicle controls across multiple EV platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical programs delivering vertically integrated hardware and software for vehicle controls subsystems, aligning with company objectives and milestones.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to scope integration requirements, define test asset needs, and coordinate subsystem and vehicle‑level test plans.
• Develop detailed integration timelines, manage resource allocation, and prioritize components based on risk and program milestones.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, manage risks and dependencies, and drive verification test execution.
• Provide regular updates to leadership, facilitate escalations, and champion continuous improvement of program processes.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years technical program management experience, with at least 3 years in automotive/EV hardware‑software integration.
• Proven track record managing complex programs that involve both hardware and software, using Systems Engineering principles and SDLC.
• Experience with test and validation strategies for automotive systems.
