Staff Engineer

About the role

Carefeed is looking for a Staff Engineer to drive the technical vision of its all‑in‑one operations platform for senior‑living communities. The role blends strategic architectural leadership with hands‑on development, mentorship, and occasional people‑management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Own major architectural decisions and define the long‑term technical roadmap.
• Write high‑quality, production‑ready code and participate in code reviews.
• Ensure best practices in testing, CI/CD, and deployment.
• Coach team members on software design, testing, and operational excellence.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient systems to support rapid growth.
• Lead, mentor, and occasionally manage up to three engineers, guiding their technical challenges and career development.
• Evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve productivity and reliability.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong expertise in backend or full‑stack development.
• Proven track record designing and implementing large‑scale systems and leading high‑impact projects.
• Deep knowledge of modern software practices such as continuous deployment and automated testing.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience, including mentoring and leading small teams.
