Sr. Manager, Strategic Procurement

About the role

The Sr. Manager, Strategic Procurement leads enterprise‑wide sourcing and category‑management for Enviva’s purchased goods, equipment, and services. Reporting to the VP of Capital Projects & Procurement, the role oversees a team of procurement professionals across plants and marine terminals to deliver cost savings, mitigate supply risk, and create supplier value.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and category‑management plans for MRO, spare parts, capital equipment, and professional services.
• Own the full sourcing cycle: spend analysis, market research, RFP creation, bid evaluation, negotiation, supplier selection, and contract award.
• Lead complex commercial negotiations and manage contracts, master service agreements, and pricing agreements with Legal support.
• Build and maintain supplier relationship programs, including qualification, scorecards, business reviews, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, capital projects, and finance to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
• Design and implement supply‑risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity across all sites and terminals.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure compliant sourcing practices.
• Identify, quantify, and report cost‑savings and avoidance opportunities against targets.
• Define, measure, and report key procurement KPIs such as savings, spend under management, supplier performance, and cycle time.
• Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team of procurement professionals.
• Leverage ERP and procurement analytics tools to drive data‑based decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading strategic sourcing and category‑management initiatives in an industrial or energy environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex commercial negotiations and contract administration.
• Strong partnership skills with plant operations, engineering, capital projects, and finance functions.
• Experience developing and executing supply‑risk mitigation strategies.
• Track record of delivering measurable cost‑savings and reporting performance against targets.
• Leadership experience managing a distributed team of procurement professionals.
