Spring Law Student Internship – Denver Housing Unit

About the role

Colorado Legal Services is seeking a law student for a spring internship with its Denver Housing Unit, working primarily at the Adams County eviction clinic. The intern will support attorneys and paralegals while gaining hands‑on experience assisting low‑income clients facing eviction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client interviews, review documents, and perform legal research to investigate applicants’ issues.
• Assist at the Housing Unit’s Eviction Clinic in Adams County.
• Draft advice letters, pleadings, memoranda, and briefs as needed.
• Support any additional tasks required for effective client representation.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to legal issues affecting low‑income individuals.
• Interest in research, writing, and interviewing.
• Willingness to work with vulnerable populations, including disabled and elderly clients.
• Confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
