Speech Pathology Visiting Student

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is offering a short‑term visiting student placement for speech‑language pathology students. This clinical rotation provides hands‑on experience in a multidisciplinary academic medical center, supporting teamwork, diversity, and patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in patient assessments and contribute to therapy planning under supervision.
• Assist licensed speech‑language pathologists during therapy sessions.
• Document clinical observations and outcomes in accordance with UAMS standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Attend case conferences and educational meetings related to speech‑language pathology.

Required profile

• Active enrollment in an accredited speech‑language pathology program.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of the rotation.
• Compliance with UAMS COVID‑19 vaccination policy or an approved medical/religious exemption.
