Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant will support the Special Education Director and a credentialed Speech/Language Pathologist in delivering speech‑therapy services to students with special needs during the 2026‑27 school year.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in providing speech therapy services according to IEP goals and treatment plans.
• Conduct speech‑language screenings and document student progress.
• Prepare and maintain therapy materials, including augmentative communication devices.
• Perform clerical duties such as record‑keeping and report preparation.
• Support behavior management using positive reinforcement strategies.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited speech‑language pathology assistant program.
• At least six months of paid or volunteer experience with individuals who have speech or language disabilities.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification; registered as a Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant in California.
• Ability to pass fingerprint clearance and TB test.

Required skills

• Knowledge of augmentative communication devices and their maintenance.
• Basic understanding of language, articulation, and hearing disorders.
• Proficiency in record‑keeping and documentation.
• Effective oral communication and English language usage.
