Special Education Teacher

About the role

River Rock Academy seeks a Special Education Teacher to design and deliver individualized learning experiences for students with behavioral and academic challenges. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support each student's growth and success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lessons aligned with each student’s IEP goals and learning needs.
• Manage classroom behavior, maintaining a safe and structured environment.
• Track and document student progress, assessments, and IEP components.
• Collaborate with staff, families, and external partners to support student development.
• Lead and mentor classroom staff to ensure consistent instruction and support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs and behavior support plans.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and classroom leadership abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and service providers.

Required skills

• Knowledge of behavior management and positive behavioral interventions.
