About the role

We are looking for a skilled Spanish Language Interpreter and Freelance Translator to support our technical team in New York. The role involves translating a wide range of documents and providing occasional verbal interpretation, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Translate written materials such as reports, contracts, marketing content, and legal documents between English and Spanish.
• Proofread and edit translations for accuracy, consistency, and grammatical correctness.
• Adapt translations culturally to convey the intended meaning in the target language.
• Provide verbal interpretation during meetings or phone calls when needed.
• Research terminology in specialized fields (legal, medical, technical) to ensure precise translations.
• Maintain high quality standards and adhere to established translation guidelines.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to understand project context and requirements.
• Manage time effectively to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Create and maintain glossaries of frequently used terms for consistency.
• Stay updated on language trends, cultural shifts, and best practices in translation.

Required profile

• Fluent in both Spanish and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous professional translation experience, preferably in business or technical settings.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality output.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
