Solutions Engineer - Mid-Market

About the role

Serval is building an AI‑native automation platform that replaces manual processes with intelligent agents. As a Solutions Engineer on the founding team, you will own the technical side of the pre‑sales cycle for strategic, mid‑market customers, shaping demos, technical evaluations, and the overall solutions architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical sales motion with account executives, including discovery, architecture design, demos, whiteboard sessions, and executive briefings.
• Deep‑dive into prospect integrations across identity providers (Okta, Entra), ITSM, ticketing, MDM, HRIS, cloud and SaaS applications.
• Translate complex technical environments into scoped, value‑based pilot use cases and success criteria.
• Serve as the security and access authority, addressing guardrails, least‑privilege, just‑in‑time access, audit logging and compliance questions.
• Build the foundational SA toolkit: demo environments, reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, FAQs and competitive positioning.

Required profile

• A builder‑at‑heart who can scope, demo and ship proof‑of‑value solutions independently.
• Deep technical credibility that earns trust from CIOs, Heads of IT and security leaders in early meetings.
• Trusted advisor instinct, listening for real problems and proving value rather than feature‑pushing.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity, owning end‑to‑end work without waiting for direction.

Required skills

• 3‑6+ years in solutions architecture, sales engineering or comparable pre‑sales technical roles.
• Hands‑on experience with modern IT and identity stacks: IdPs (Okta, Entra), SCIM, ITSM, ticketing, SaaS administration and APIs.
• Strong security knowledge: guardrails, approval workflows, least‑privilege, just‑in‑time access, audit logging and compliance.
• Ability to debug integrations live and answer detailed architecture or security questions.
• Experience with AI automation, access management or related enterprise software is a plus.
