Solutions Architect – US West

About the role

As a Solutions Engineer at Cogent Security, you’ll be the technical backbone of the post‑sales motion – designing and scoping vulnerability‑management solutions that get complex customers live on Cogent. You won’t write production code, but you’ll speak the language of security engineers, translate environments into concrete implementation plans, and write tickets that turn those plans into reality.

Key responsibilities

• Scope & design solutions by working directly with customer security teams to understand their environment and define the Cogent deployment.
• Bridge technical and product teams by writing clear, actionable tickets that hand off solution designs to engineering.
• Own the technical relationship, serving as the technical counterpart to the TAM and earning credibility with stakeholders up to the CISO level.
• Deploy at enterprise scale, getting customers live on Cogent while coordinating with large deployment teams.
• Scale the forward‑deployed motion by building repeatable scoping and design practices that reduce the need for dedicated engineers.
• Shape what “good” looks like by defining the Solutions Architect function as the post‑sales motion grows.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of deep domain expertise in vulnerability management or a closely adjacent security discipline.
• Experience at an early‑stage company, having built processes from scratch and operated comfortably with ambiguity.
• Track record with enterprise‑scale customers, working with CISO‑level stakeholders and large implementation teams.
• Management experience, including hiring and building out a team.
• Familiarity with APIs – comfortable with API keys, reading/writing data, and validating data in a tool.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate fluently between customer security teams and internal engineering.
