Solr Administrator – Sunnyvale, CA

About the role

Infosys is seeking a Solr Administrator to join its Retail, Consumer Goods and Logistics unit in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on designing, monitoring and maintaining high‑performance search infrastructure based on Apache Solr, while integrating cloud services on AWS. You will work with multi‑vendor teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop diagnostic tools, establish monitoring protocols, and resolve complex incidents through root‑cause analysis while ensuring SLA adherence.
• Conduct detailed IT infrastructure evaluations, identify gaps and risks, and recommend tailored enhancements.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, high‑performance infrastructure solutions for search platforms.
• Optimize deployment processes, ensure environment readiness, troubleshoot issues and produce deployment documentation.
• Create and enforce change‑management procedures to minimise risk during system updates.
• Implement advanced monitoring, capacity planning and performance tuning to avoid bottlenecks.
• Define and apply security measures and disaster‑recovery strategies, including risk assessments.
• Identify automation opportunities, design tools and evaluate their impact on efficiency.
• Collaborate with multi‑vendor and cross‑functional teams to ensure successful project execution and documentation.
• Build knowledge repositories, document methodologies and promote learning across the organization.

Required profile

• Proven experience in infrastructure consulting or similar senior technical roles.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to perform root‑cause analysis and develop action plans.
• Experience evaluating IT environments, identifying risks and recommending improvements.
• Ability to design secure, scalable solutions and manage change processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multi‑vendor and cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive attitude towards automation, process optimisation and knowledge sharing.
