Software Engineer, Voice AI

About the role

Sage Care is hiring a product‑focused Software Engineer to build voice AI experiences that help patients get the care they need. This full‑stack position has a strong backend focus, working across services, AI systems, integrations, and the voice stack.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship voice AI features and patient workflows end‑to‑end.
• Develop backend services and integrations that let agents retrieve information and take actions.
• Improve conversation behavior, latency, and reliability across the voice and AI stack.
• Use production conversations and customer feedback to continuously improve the experience.
• Own testing, monitoring, and production debugging for your features.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of full‑time professional software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping and maintaining production software used by real customers.
• Strong backend engineering skills, including APIs, services, and data modeling.
• Product judgment: understand customer needs, clarify ambiguous requirements, and make practical trade‑offs.
• Ability to independently deliver features, investigate production issues, and collaborate closely with product and engineering.
