Software Engineer - Tools & Infrastructure / DevOps

About the role

Cerebras Systems builds the world's largest AI chip, which delivers training and inference speeds over 10 times faster than GPU-based cloud services. It is looking for a Software Engineer focused on tools and infrastructure / DevOps in Sunnyvale. The role covers CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, code review workflows, cloud infrastructure and build tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines so that build, test and release workflows are reliable and efficient.
• Help manage artifact lifecycle systems, including versioning, storage, distribution and dependency management, to support reproducible builds at scale.
• Partner with development teams to design and improve code review workflows, branching strategies and automated integration processes.
• Provision, monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure supporting CI workloads, balancing cost, performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot build failures, pipeline bottlenecks and infrastructure issues, driving root-cause analysis and lasting fixes.
• Contribute to internal build infrastructure, test infrastructure, tooling and automation that improves developer velocity.
• Contribute to the company's AI tooling efforts and join the on-call and incident response task force of the Dev Productivity organization.

Required profile

• 4-8 years of professional experience in a DevOps, infrastructure or software engineering role.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and hands-on experience building or maintaining automated build and deployment pipelines.
• Understanding of artifact repository management and software packaging.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and programmatic resource provisioning.
• Proficiency with distributed version control, code review processes and repository management.
• Foundational knowledge of Linux/Unix, networking and scripting for automation.
• Experience with containerization and container orchestration (Kubernetes preferred).
• Preferred: familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools, Python or Shell scripting, build systems and build graph optimization, observability (monitoring, logging, alerting), and a CS degree or equivalent practical experience.
