Software Development Engineer

About the role

Jiffy.com is looking for a Software Development Engineer who will orchestrate AI coding agents to deliver end‑to‑end features across its e‑commerce platform. You will work closely with product, design, and operations teams, directing agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor to produce, test, review, and deploy production‑ready software.

Key responsibilities

• Orchestrate AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) across 3‑6 concurrent work streams, handling features, refactors, bug fixes, and investigations.
• Own features from specification to production: translate product intent, decompose work into agent‑executable plans, drive implementation, review diffs, run QA, land PRs, and monitor production health.
• Design and architect scalable, reliable systems using Rails 8, Solidus, GraphQL APIs, React 19, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Raise the quality bar on AI‑generated code by catching hallucinated APIs, enforcing secure and idiomatic patterns, and providing critical feedback.
• Build and evolve internal AI tooling, authoring skills, rules, prompts, MCP integrations, and evaluation harnesses.
• Ensure production rigor with meaningful test coverage (RSpec, Vitest, Playwright), monitor deployments, respond to incidents, and fully own shipped services.
• Partner cross‑functionally with product, design, ops, and engineering peers to define and ship features, participate in architecture reviews, and mentor engineers on AI‑native workflows.

Required profile

• Proven experience directing AI‑driven coding agents to deliver production‑ready software.
• Strong architectural judgment and ability to critically review AI‑generated code.
• Systems‑thinking mindset with the capacity to manage multiple parallel work streams.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
