About the role
The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking qualified Social Services Providers (I or II) to deliver rehabilitation counseling, intake, and mental‑health services to youth at the Macon Youth Development Center.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct intake services and mental‑health screenings for assigned youth, ensuring timely completion.
- Perform comprehensive mental‑health assessments, interview youth and families, and document findings.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and crisis‑management plans.
- Provide therapeutic counseling to individuals, groups, and families.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and deliver crisis intervention as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurately record referrals, recommendations, and assessments.
- Provide on‑call evening and weekend coverage for urgent mental‑health needs.
Required profile
- Ability to conduct intake, assessments, and therapeutic counseling for youth.
- Strong interview and documentation skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to agency policies.
- Willingness to work on‑call evenings and weekends.
