Small Business Loan Collections Analyst

About the role

The Small Business Loan Collections Analyst is responsible for collecting past‑due accounts on SMB/SBA commercial loans, controlling delinquency, protecting Northwest assets, and mitigating bank losses while developing customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Process loan modifications and work with the Loss Mitigation Credit Group.
• Utilize AS400, Signature, VQueue, and collections software systems.
• Identify and resolve lender/bank collection issues and ensure timely collection efforts.
• Prepare and analyze departmental reports and meet service standards.
• Work with SMB/SBA teams on delinquency plans and review documentation for data integrity.
• Obtain voluntary payments, judgments, and property reports; negotiate payment agreements.
• Monitor payment progress, maximize skip‑tracing methods, and verify collateral.
• Recommend procedural improvements and fee‑generating alternatives.
• Ensure compliance with Northwest policies, Federal/State regulations, and safety protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred.
• 3‑5 years of credit, administrative, or collections experience.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and solve problems.
• Strong communication, active listening, and analytical decision‑making skills.
