Skilled Tradesman – Locksmith

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a skilled tradesman to serve as a campus locksmith. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures the security and proper functioning of all lock systems across university buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, install, maintain, and repair door hardware and locking mechanisms throughout the campus.
• Address issues with cabinet and file‑cabinet locks as they arise.
• Collaborate with Facilities Management and other departments to support overall campus security objectives.
• Perform occasional tasks outside the core locksmith trade when required by Facilities Management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience or training in locksmithing, lock installation, or related trades.
• Ability to work independently and follow state, federal, and institutional policies.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a secure environment.
