About the role

COST of Wisconsin is seeking a dependable Shop & Yard Laborer / Driver to support its shop, shipping, receiving, and construction projects. The role is hands‑on, requiring mechanical aptitude, active work, and teamwork to keep equipment and the yard running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Operate company vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment as needed.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing equipment to ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain inventory and keep shop, yard, and storage areas clean and organized.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Satisfactory driving record and ability to meet DOT physical and drug‑testing requirements.

Required skills

  • Forklift operation.
  • Driving company vehicles.
  • Use of hand tools for mechanical repairs.
