Shipping Technician

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring a Shipping Technician for its Sugar Lane location in Elyria, OH. The role handles shipping requirements for the plant, including coordinating drivers, deliveries and pickups, and performing inventory control with weekly, monthly and yearly cycle counts. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:15pm.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate outgoing shipments, including processing and printing bills of lading and related paperwork.
• Receive goods in SAP with appropriate documentation and storage.
• Examine outgoing shipments for defects.
• Assemble and package products and materials, inserting items into containers with spacers, fillers and padding as needed.
• Adhere, stamp, glue and label shipping information and instructions on boxes, reels, containers and documentation.
• Maintain a neat work area and shipping yard in accordance with 5S+2 standards.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping or distribution environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; work in plant, warehouse, forklift and office environments, possibly exposed to weather and noise; personal protective equipment is required.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Knowledge of warehouse systems, including shipping and receiving, FIFO, cycle counting and inventory control.
