Shipping Attendant

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring a Shipping Attendant in West Valley City. The role covers preparing and loading outgoing shipments, unloading incoming ones, keeping the shipping yard tidy and moving finished products and materials to the right departments or storage areas. It may also involve internal plant material-handling duties. The schedule is day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:15pm.

Key responsibilities

• Load and coordinate outgoing shipments, including processing and printing bills of lading and shipping paperwork.
• Unload incoming shipments, receive goods in SAP and check documentation and storage.
• Assemble and package materials for shipment, label them and their documents accurately.
• Communicate with teams so the right product ships at high quality with minimal waste.
• Check outgoing shipments for defects, accurate labels and correct documentation.
• Assist the Shipping Technician with inventory control and cycle counts for steel reels and other inventory, and unload returns and count parts.
• Perform material handling for production, raw materials, extrusion reel returns and reel building.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• At least 1 year of forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping or distribution setting, with varied equipment and terrain.
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs, and to work in variable weather and noise with required PPE.

Required skills

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse systems, shipping, receiving and FIFO practices.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and MRP or ERP systems.

• Pay starting at $22 per hour; a $1,500 sign-on bonus paid over 180 days ($500 after 90 days, $1,000 after 180 days).
