Shift Supervisor – Day Shift

About the role

The Shift Supervisor oversees daily operations for vehicle operators and fleet specialists on the day shift at Waabi’s Lancaster, Texas terminal. Acting as the on‑ground leader, you ensure trucks are compliant, crews meet safety standards, and every mission is executed safely and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end shift operations, coordinating with Dispatch to assign testing missions and commercial runs while meeting KPIs.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Vehicle Operators, handling performance reviews, scheduling, time‑off requests, and corrective actions.
• Enforce safety and compliance standards, including pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and Enhanced Inspection Program requirements.
• Monitor crew fatigue, enforce rest periods, adjust assignments, and escalate patterns before incidents occur.
• Own personnel‑to‑vehicle assignments and ensure clean shift‑to‑shift handoffs of open issues and truck status.
• Serve as on‑site escalation point for terminal and field issues, initiating incident response and coordinating with Dispatch.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, or transportation management.
• Proven leadership experience supervising CDL operators or shift‑based teams.
• Active Class A CDL preferred and strong understanding of Class 8 vehicle operations.
• Deep knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, especially Hours of Service compliance.
• Experience with fleet management software, scheduling tools, and telematics platforms.
• Ability to work flexible day‑shift hours up to ~14 hours, including weekends, holidays, and travel to remote sites.
