Shared Laboratory Resource Specialist II

About the role

The Shared Laboratory Resource Specialist II supports the daily operations of the BioRepository for the Neuro Institute Brain Study. This position involves recruiting participants, collecting and processing blood samples, and ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, process, and manage biological samples according to established protocols.
• Log samples, handle service requests, and communicate basic information to users.
• Maintain laboratory inventories, order materials, and perform equipment preparation and minor repairs.
• Train team members on standard operating procedures and equipment use.
• Perform quality assurance on all assigned activities and document results for leadership.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a relevant scientific field with two years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree, or four years of directly related experience.
• Certification in the appropriate field within one year of hire.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, lift, stand, and walk continuously.
