Service Technician – Student Living (Block 75)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to maintain the physical aspects of its Block 75 student living property. The role ensures buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and making repairs per policies and codes.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and maintain paperwork for tracking.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep, such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, cleaning, and painting.
• Support cost‑control by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible.
• Participate in safety meetings, complete OSHA training, and report incidents promptly.
• Inspect contractor work for quality and compliance with specifications.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years of property‑management or building‑maintenance experience.
• May require certifications such as HVAC and state/local licenses.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• EPA Type I and II or Universal refrigerant recycling certification.
• HVAC certification (if required by jurisdiction).
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart.
• Basic computer proficiency (Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database).
