Service Technician - Retail

About the role

Morguard, a fully integrated real estate company investing in multifamily assets across North America, is hiring a Service Technician for its retail shopping centers. The technician reports to the Regional Property Manager and responds quickly and courteously to tenants, customers and the public with maintenance requests, repairing and restoring services within the agreed quality and time standards while following operating and safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Answer 24-hour on-call emergency maintenance requests promptly and complete assigned maintenance tasks.
• Make vacant tenant spaces ready for leasing and report maintenance problems to management.
• Carry out ongoing preventative maintenance and regularly inspect buildings and sites, notifying the right departments of deficiencies.
• Work with local authorities, tenants and contractors to keep the site running efficiently.
• Complete and follow up on service requests and prepare shopping centers for emergencies such as hurricanes or storms, including post-emergency needs.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of operational experience in shopping centers.
• EPA 608 Universal certification required.
• High school graduate; technical school preferred but not required.
• Drug test, criminal/credit background check and reliable transportation required.
• Strong mechanical and HVAC background preferred.
