Service Technician for Student Living Property

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that the physical aspects of The Accolade on Chestnut student living community meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This includes responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new move‑ins.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Perform grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Inspect contractor work, support property inspections for safety and risk management, and document all service activities accurately.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of property or building maintenance experience.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to be on‑call as needed.

Required skills

• EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling.
• HVAC knowledge and related trade certifications as required by state or local jurisdictions.
• Valid driver’s license (golf‑cart operation where applicable).
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs for reporting.
