Service Engineer Intern

About the role

Join Bosch Rexroth’s HydraForce division as a Service Engineer Intern and support the Service, Quality and Sales Engineering teams. You will gain hands‑on experience with hydraulic systems, problem‑solving methodologies and data‑driven analysis tools while contributing to real customer projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Service Engineers in 8D problem‑solving activities and root‑cause analysis of hydraulic failures.
• Develop and modify dashboards or scorecards (e.g., Power BI) to track service metrics.
• Support claim evaluation, review returned materials, and perform hydraulic testing for failure analysis.
• Assemble and disassemble hydraulic valves and manifolds for diagnostic purposes.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and prints.
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean tools to continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related) with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Strong analytical mindset and willingness to learn industry‑specific processes.
• Ability to work on‑site in Lincolnshire for the full internship period.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience or familiarity with Power BI or similar data‑visualisation tools.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
• Hands‑on skills in hydraulic testing, valve assembly/disassembly, and reading hydraulic schematics.
