Manufacturing Engineer Summer Internship 2027

About the role

HydraForce, a Bosch Rexroth company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. The intern will support engineering teams in tool design, testing, and process improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop tools and components using 3D modeling.
• Create and dimension drawings for manufacturing.
• Conduct testing experiments and follow measurement plans.
• Perform FMEA analyses and improve assembly‑cell layouts.
• Identify waste reduction opportunities and implement 5S methodology.
• Assist with production assembly and testing activities.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering Technology).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Self‑directed, motivated and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in PTC Creo (CAD modeling).
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
• Understanding of FMEA methodology.
• Knowledge of 5S continuous‑improvement practices.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation between $20 and $27 (USD) based on academic credits.
• Full‑time onsite internship from June 2 2027 to August 6 2027 in Lincolnshire.
• Opportunity to transition to an entry‑level engineering role after graduation.
