SEO Manager

About the role

deodato.co, a boutique digital marketing agency in New York, is looking for an experienced SEO Manager to lead organic search and AI‑driven answer engine strategies for its e‑commerce and consumer‑brand clients. You will own the SEO roadmap, work directly with clients, and collaborate across content, creative, and paid teams to drive traffic, visibility, and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute SEO and AEO/GEO strategies tailored to each client’s goals.
• Conduct keyword research, SEO audits, and competitive benchmarking to identify opportunities.
• Implement on‑page and technical SEO improvements, including meta tags, headers, URLs, site architecture, crawl budget, indexation, canonical tags, hreflang, and redirects.
• Deploy structured data, llms.txt files, and other machine‑readable content to enhance AI answer engine visibility.
• Monitor brand citation across AI platforms and adjust tactics accordingly.
• Analyze traffic, user behavior, and conversion data to measure performance and provide data‑driven recommendations.
• Manage link‑building campaigns to acquire high‑quality backlinks.
• Stay up‑to‑date with algorithm updates, AI search developments, and emerging SEO tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in an SEO‑focused role, preferably within an agency.
• Hands‑on knowledge of AI/answer engine optimization and how large language models source and cite content.
