Senior UX Principal - Online

About the role

The Home Depot's Online team is looking for a Senior UX Principal to help define and shape the future of its online customer journey. The role leads large-scale experience initiatives that combine strategic vision, customer insight and polished visual design, and works closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design and business stakeholders. It is a senior leadership position with a high degree of autonomy, supporting several product teams and typically reporting to a Director or Senior Director of User Experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and execute: ensure consistency of deliverables across domains, lead synthesis and facilitation activities, and deliver UX strategy artifacts such as experience maps and service blueprints.
• People: mentor principals and future principals on strategy, planning and innovative practices; help UX leadership align resources to products by skillset and product team needs; attract, retain, develop and motivate top talent.
• Strategy and planning: partner with Product, Development, other UX resources and business stakeholders across multiple domains; drive UX practice and vision, combining user research with partners' OGSMs or OKRs to articulate the vision of their experiences and drive alignment.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in visual design, interaction design, information hierarchy and modern design systems.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end UX thinking and a passion for intuitive, engaging experiences.
• Hands-on design leader who collaborates well, welcomes feedback, mentors others and takes informed risks.
• Must be 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: 8+ years of experience with agile software development teams, strong interpersonal skills, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
