Senior UI/UX Designer – Hybrid (Columbia, MD)

About the role

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons company, is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to lead the user experience of its unified software suite. Based in Columbia, MD, this hybrid role blends strategic design thinking with hands‑on execution, from research to high‑fidelity mockups and developer handoff.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end UI/UX design process, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity Figma mockups.
• Build and maintain reusable Figma component libraries and collaborate with engineering to develop corresponding React UI components.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing) to inform design decisions.
• Document design systems, style guides, and process resources to ensure consistency and smooth handoff.
• Review implemented features for design fidelity and mentor teammates to foster a culture of design quality.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and 6+ years of UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto‑layout, and prototyping.
• Familiarity with React and Vue.js for designing UI components.
• Demonstrated ability to own design direction and communicate decisions to cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong visual design fundamentals and experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience).
