Senior Test Software Engineer – AI Workloads

About the role

Join Cowboy Space Corp. to develop and validate software that powers AI workloads on spacecraft and ground systems. You will work across the full stack, from low‑level flight code to high‑level mission‑control services, ensuring reliable operation in demanding space environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software for spacecraft, ground infrastructure, and mission operations.
• Develop flight software that interfaces directly with hardware and supports real‑time control.
• Create simulation and testing frameworks to validate system behavior before deployment.
• Collaborate with propulsion, power, and avionics teams to integrate, test, and debug end‑to‑end systems.
• Write performant, reliable code for resource‑constrained, mission‑critical environments.
• Build internal tools for testing automation and operational workflows.
• Participate in system bring‑up, integration, launch preparation, and on‑orbit support.
• Contribute to architecture decisions across software and hardware boundaries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience building production software systems.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or Rust.
• Hands‑on experience working close to hardware, distributed or real‑time systems.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, networking, and concurrency.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast‑paced, engineering‑driven environments.
