Embedded Software Engineering Lead

About the role

Cowboy Space Corporation is looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineering Lead to head the development of real‑time, flight‑critical software for its satellite constellation. You will be responsible for the quality, reliability and fault tolerance of the embedded software that powers satellite control, power‑beaming operations and ground receiver systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers delivering avionics and satellite‑control software.
• Define and enforce development standards, architecture guidelines and code‑review processes.
• Ensure robust, fault‑tolerant software practices across the entire embedded stack.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems and ground‑segment teams to integrate real‑time software components.
• Oversee testing, verification and validation of flight‑critical software releases.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in embedded software teams.
• Strong background in developing real‑time, safety‑critical systems for aerospace or satellite applications.
• Ability to drive technical excellence and mentor junior engineers.
