About the role
We are growing our support team at ClickHouse and are looking for a Senior Technical Customer Support Engineer, Federal, to serve the specific needs of U.S. public‑sector customers, federal agencies, and their contractors and integrators. The role sits within our global Support Engineering team and focuses on delivering technically deep support while meeting the compliance, security, and operational constraints of federal environments.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical support contact for federal and public‑sector customers across cases, chat, Slack, and meetings, adhering to federal communication and data‑handling requirements.
- Develop solutions based on ClickHouse Cloud and ClickHouse open‑source, sharing documentation, knowledge‑base articles, and runbooks tailored to government deployment patterns.
- Guide customers through deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting in government‑authorized environments, including AWS GovCloud‑adjacent infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Support Services, Engineering, Security/Compliance, Product Management, and Go‑To‑Market teams to represent federal requirements and influence the product roadmap.
- Support technical aspects of federal POCs, security questionnaires, and Authority to Operate (ATO) evaluations.
- Provide professional, on‑call coverage and guidance within required SLAs on technical cases via ticketing system, email, Slack, chat, or phone.
- Build trusted relationships with colleagues, customers, government program stakeholders, and system integrators/resellers.
Required profile
- U.S. Person status, verified during the interview process.
- Technical breadth in ClickHouse (open‑source or Cloud) or related domains such as SQL databases, OLAP, cloud‑native SaaS, and distributed systems.
- Previous experience in roles like Support Engineer, Consultant, DBA, Site Reliability Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Software Engineer, or Systems Engineer.
- Familiarity with federal IT compliance realities (FedRAMP, DOD IL, AWS GovCloud, air‑gapped or sovereign‑cloud deployments).
- Strong communication skills and sound judgment around sensitive data handling.
- Team‑oriented mindset, empathy, and ability to solve challenging problems under government‑level rigor.
- Self‑driven, curious, and eager to continuously learn and grow.
