Senior Tax Strategist

About the role

The Senior Tax Strategist will apply accounting principles to analyze financial information, prepare reports, and manage tax filings for businesses and clients. This role serves as a trusted advisor, helping clients maximize engagement and achieve high‑quality outcomes while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely filing.
• Identify and implement process improvements in tax procedures.
• Develop and execute strategic tax planning for all required jurisdictions.
• Lead and mentor members of the tax team throughout the preparation of the company’s US federal income tax return and related documents.
• Maintain a tax return calendar, coordinating timing and inputs across the team.
• Oversee IRS income tax audits, preparing responses and schedules.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, communicating impacts and developing strategies to leverage new tax laws.
• Support internal audits and special tax‑related projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience.
• CPA or EA certification preferred.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Experience with tax return preparation and filing.
• Ability to manage IRS audit processes.
